Frequently Asked Questions

  • 1. How do I improve my Google Form score?

Run the grader and work through the report it gives you — shorten the form, balance required fields, split long forms into steps, turn on the progress bar, avoid grid questions. But some limits (no email verification, no payments, no spam protection, Google branding) can't be fixed in Google Forms at all. The fastest way to a high score is to rebuild on a form builder like FormNX, where the good defaults are built in.

  • 2. How is the conversion score calculated?

The score out of 100 comes from 11 weighted checks on your form's design and settings: form length, required-field balance, multi-step structure, progress bar, file-upload friction, forced Google sign-in, mobile-friendly question types, email collection, long-answer field load, question conciseness, and whether there's a form description. Each is a factor research consistently links to form completion rate. The score measures form design only — it's honest and actionable, not padded with things you can't change.

  • 3. Is this Google Form grader free?

Yes — completely free, no signup. Paste your form link and get an instant score and report.

  • 4. How does the grader read my form?

When you paste a link, our server fetches the public form page (the same page anyone with the link sees) and reads its structure — number of questions, field types, required flags, pages, and form settings. It only reads what is already public. It does not submit anything, change anything, or access your responses.

  • 5. Do you store my form or its link?

No. The form link is used once to fetch and score the form, then discarded. We don't store the URL, the form structure, or any responses.

  • 6. It says my form is private — why?

If your form is restricted to a specific Google Workspace domain, only signed-in users from that domain can open it — so the grader can't read it either. Either temporarily remove the domain restriction, or grade a public form. Also make sure you're pasting the public "viewform" link, not the form-editing link.

  • 7. What score should I aim for?

75+ is Solid, 50-74 is Needs work, and below 50 is At risk. But remember — the score only measures form design. Even a 100/100 Google Form still can't verify emails, take payments, block spam, or carry your branding.

  • 8. Why does form length matter so much?

Completion rate drops with every additional field — it's one of the most consistent findings in form research. If a field isn't essential, cutting it almost always raises your completion rate.

  • 9. Can I grade a Typeform, Jotform, or other form?

This grader is built specifically for Google Forms — it reads the structure Google Forms publishes. For other builders the same principles still apply (short form, balanced required fields, multi-step, mobile-friendly fields), you just can't auto-score it here.
