Why Use Quiz Mode?
Per-Question or Default Scoring
Assign a unique point value to each quiz question (10 points for easy ones, 25 for the hard ones), or set a default score that applies to every quiz question - whichever fits your test format.
Custom Grading Scales with Descriptions
Build your own grading bands - 90-100 = Grade A "Excellent", 70-89 = Grade B "Good", below 50 = "Needs improvement" - or any pass/fail logic. The quiz taker sees their grade plus a personalised message based on their score.
Per-Field Quiz Question Toggle
Not every field has to be a quiz question. Toggle "Quiz Question" on or off per field, so the form can mix scored questions with regular fields like name, email, or open feedback prompts in the same submission.
Randomise Answer Options
Shuffle the order of answer options on multiple-choice quiz questions for every respondent. Stops respondents from copying each other and prevents the answer position from becoming a hint.
Scorecard with Correct/Incorrect Feedback
On submission, the quiz taker sees a scorecard - total score, the grade they earned with its description, and per-question correct/incorrect feedback. Send the same scorecard by email automatically for self-paced learning and certification records.

How does scoring work in FormNX Quiz Mode?
You can either set a default point value that applies to every quiz question, or assign a different number of points to each question individually. When the quiz is submitted, FormNX sums up the points from correctly-answered questions and the total is mapped to a grade using the grading scale you defined.

How do I set up grades like A/B/C or Pass/Fail?
Quiz Mode lets you define your own grading scale with score ranges, grade labels, and descriptions. For example: 90-100 = "A - Excellent work!", 70-89 = "B - Good effort", 50-69 = "C - Keep practising", below 50 = "Fail - please review and retry". The quiz taker sees both the grade and your custom message on their scorecard.

Can I mix quiz questions with regular form fields?
Yes. Quiz Mode is per-field, not per-form. Toggle "Quiz Question" on or off on each field individually - so the same form can collect the respondent's name and email (regular fields) AND score them on 10 quiz questions (scored fields) in one submission.

Can I randomise the answer options?
Yes. For multiple-choice quiz questions, you can shuffle the order of the answer options on every load. This prevents respondents from copying answers from each other and stops the answer position from being a hint.

Do quiz takers see which answers they got right and wrong?
Yes - you can show a scorecard on submission that includes per-question correct/incorrect feedback alongside the total score and grade. This is useful for self-paced learning and immediate feedback. If you prefer, you can hide the per-question feedback and only show the final grade.

Can I email the scorecard to the quiz taker?
Yes. Configure Quiz Mode to send a scorecard email to the respondent on submission. The email includes the total score, the grade they earned with its description, and (optionally) per-question feedback - useful for certification records, training programs, and follow-up.

Yes. Pair Quiz Mode with the FormNX form timer to run a timed quiz or online exam. Set a whole-quiz countdown or a per-page time limit, and the quiz auto-submits and scores itself when time runs out. FormNX also records how long each quiz taker took.
