What is Reference Number?​

The "Form Submission Reference Number Generation" feature in FormNX allows you to automatically assign a unique reference personalised ID to each form submission.

This reference number helps you organize and track submissions effectively, making it easier to manage and analyze the data collected through your forms.

Enabling Reference Number Generation on submission​

To set up Reference Number generation for a form submissions in FormNX, follow these steps:

  1. Access Settings Tab: Open the form you want to generate Reference Number for, click on "Settings" tab & then click on "Form Submission Reference" section.

  2. Enable it: Check the Enable checkbox to enable it.

  3. Customize the Reference Number::

    • Prefix: Enter a small string or symbol that will be added to the start of the generated reference number. This can be your company's short name or a unique identifier.
    • Suffix: Enter a small string or symbol that will be added to the end of the generated reference number.
    • Start Number: Specify the starting number for generating the reference numbers.
    • Minimum Digit: Set the minimum number of digits that should be present in the reference number.

Save Your Settings: Be sure to save your form.

Examples Use Cases​

Example 1: Customer Support Ticketing​

If you use a form for customer support ticket submissions, you can generate reference numbers to uniquely identify each support ticket. The reference number can include a prefix like "TICKET-" (or any other prefix) to distinguish each tickets. Explore Customer Support Form Templates

For an order form, you can assign a unique reference number to each order submission.

This reference number can include a prefix like "ORDER-" (or your company name) to differentiate each orders. It helps both you and your customers track order status.
